Listed by city and area. Some venues' listings don't give a drink fee, or give too few totals. JGIG can't work out a median for them, so the cell shows no data.

Why rank venues by the total?

The total is the ticket plus the drink fee at the door. The drink fee is the same at most listed shows: 87.6% of shows with a drink fee charge ¥600. So the gaps between venues come mostly from ticket prices. A venue's median shows the price level of the shows it usually hosts.

What does each figure count?

  • Listed shows only. The shows JGIG lists at each venue (Oct 15, 2026 – Dec 31, 2026), not every show the venue hosts.
  • Shows with both prices. Only shows that give a ticket price and a drink fee are counted.
  • The advance price first. JGIG uses the advance price when the event lists one, and the door price otherwise.
  • At least five shows. A venue needs five or more counted shows for a median. With few shows, the figure can move a lot.

When doesn't the ranking help?

  • One show can be far from its venue's median. About half of a venue's counted shows cost more than its median. A pricey show at a low-median venue can cost more than a cheap show elsewhere.
  • A venue with no data is not cheaper or dearer. It is unknown. Check the total on each of its show pages.
  • You buy at the door. The door price may be higher than the figure used here. See Advance vs door tickets in Japan.
  • Prices change. A show's price can change after JGIG lists it. The official event page has the latest.

How do you find a cheaper night out?

  1. Use the table to shortlist venues near where you are staying.
  2. Open each venue page on JGIG and look at its upcoming shows.
  3. Compare the total on each show page for your dates.
  4. To compare nights as well, see Which night of the week is cheapest?.
  5. Before you buy, confirm the latest price on the official event page.

What if you are alone, have no Japanese or cash, or buy at the door?

  • Going alone: Going alone doesn't change the total on JGIG. Choose by the show, the area and your route home.
  • No Japanese: The totals on JGIG show pages are in English. On official pages, 前売 is the advance price and 当日 is the door price.
  • No cash: The drink fee is paid at the door. Bring yen even if your ticket was paid online.
  • Door ticket: These medians use the advance price where listed. The door price may differ, so check the event page, and remember door tickets depend on space.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Which live house in Tokyo or Osaka is the cheapest?
Compare the median totals in the table above. The figure is a guide: each show has its own price, so check the show page.
Why does a venue show no data?
Its listings don't give a drink fee, or it has fewer than five counted shows. JGIG needs both prices to work out a total.
Does a low median mean every show there is cheap?
No. About half of that venue's counted shows cost more than its median.
Why do venues differ when the drink fee is the same?
Most of the gap comes from ticket prices, because most listed shows charge the same ¥600 drink fee.
