A sold-out show (完売) may still sell door tickets on the night, but only if there is space, and there may be none. Check the official event page again on the day, and pick a backup show in the same area on JGIG. Buy only through the official event page, not from resale listings.

Why is "sold out" not the last word?

完売 tells you about the tickets sold so far. A door ticket is a separate question: it depends on whether the room has space on the night. JGIG's guide notes that door sales are often settled 5 to 30 minutes before doors. So the answer for a sold-out show often comes late, and you need a plan for both outcomes.

What should you look for on the day?

  • 当日券あり or 当日券販売: door tickets will be on sale. Arrive before doors.
  • 当日券なし: no door tickets. Move to your backup.
  • No new post: the page doesn't say yet. Check again closer to doors, and keep your backup ready.

When can the plan change?

What if you are alone, have no Japanese or cash, or buy at the door?

  • Going alone: Check the walk between your first choice and your backup on the venue pages. Save both maps before you go.
  • No Japanese: The words to find are 完売, 当日券あり and 当日券なし. To ask at the entrance, show the same-day ticket phrase from the ticket phrasebook.
  • No cash: Door tickets are paid at the entrance. JGIG's ticket guide advises carrying cash for door tickets and drink fees.
  • Door ticket: This is the door-ticket case. Arrive before doors, and leave time to reach your backup if there is no space.
