Shinsaibashi and Horie: Osaka's live house district

Shinsaibashi and Horie hold three of the Osaka live houses JGIG lists: Pangea and ANIMA toward Amerikamura, and SOCORE FACTORY in Minami-Horie. Two venues JGIG doesn't list are here too: VARON by Shinsaibashi Station, and club vijon in Kitahorie. After a show, the last Midosuji Line trains from Shinsaibashi leave at 00:12 for Umeda and 00:15 for Namba (timetable checked on 15 October 2026).

Why plan this area as one night out?

Several live houses are within reach of Shinsaibashi Station. JGIG's Pangea page places the venue in the heart of Amerikamura's live house district, and ANIMA is in Amerikamura too. So if your first choice has no space, another venue may be a short trip away. Check each venue's directions, because they start from different stations.

How do you walk to each venue?

Live House Pangea. From the South Exit of Shinsaibashi Station on the Midosuji Line, walk about 3 minutes toward Amerikamura. It is also about 3 minutes from Yotsubashi Station on the Yotsubashi Line. The venue is on the 1st floor of the Shinsaibashi West 363 Building.

Live House ANIMA. Walk toward Amerikamura from Shinsaibashi or Namba Station on the Midosuji Line, about 5–8 minutes. It is in the basement of the Spazio Building.

SOCORE FACTORY. It is about 8 minutes from Nishinagahori Station on the Sennichimae or Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line. You can also come from Sakuragawa Station.

club vijon. Use Nishi-Ohashi Station (Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line), Exit 4, then head south for about 2 minutes. See Kitahorie club vijon.

What do the venues tell you?

  • Pangea (JGIG page): 200 standing, rock and indie, with the stage close to the audience. No smoking inside; use the outdoor areas set aside.
  • ANIMA (JGIG page): 350 standing on a single floor with a clear view of the stage. It lists coin lockers, in numbers that vary by event.
  • SOCORE FACTORY (JGIG page): 150 standing. Bands, club events and experimental shows, and a sound system the page highlights.
  • VARON: JGIG doesn't list it. Its map page puts it right by Shinsaibashi Station's North Exit 11. For its lockers, re-entry and stairs, see Live houses compared.

What can catch you out?

  • No total for some shows. If a listing gives no drink fee, JGIG can't add a total. Check the official event page.
  • Re-entry. Rules differ by venue and show. Ask at the door before you step out anywhere.
  • The timetable. The last trains leave at the same times on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Osaka Metro's page lists the timetable as of 14 October 2025, so check it again on the day.
  • The right train. From Shinsaibashi, the last train toward Umeda runs to Shin-Osaka. The last one toward Namba runs to Nakamozu.

How do you plan a Shinsaibashi night?

  1. Open this week's Osaka shows and pick a show here, plus a backup.
  2. Note the station and exit for each venue from the table above.
  3. Read the official event page for tickets, times and the drink fee.
  4. Plan to leave in time for your last train from the nearest station.
  5. Save maps and tickets as screenshots. ANIMA is in a basement.

What if you are alone, have no Japanese or cash, or buy at the door?

  • Going alone: Pick a backup near Shinsaibashi Station, so moving between venues is a short walk.
  • No Japanese: Exit names help: the South Exit for Pangea, Exit 4 at Nishi-Ohashi for club vijon. JGIG venue pages give directions in English.
  • No cash: ANIMA's coin lockers need coins. The drink fee is paid in yen at the door.
  • Door ticket: Door tickets depend on space. Another venue here may be your backup, so check this week's Osaka shows.
