Why plan Christmas week early?

Some Christmas week shows are posted months ahead. Planning early gives you time to check which tickets are on sale and to arrange torioki if needed. Small venues have limited space, so a popular night can sell out.

What can't the data tell you?

Whether there are more shows than usual. The official pages show that shows happen that week. They don't show whether there are more or fewer than in a normal week.
Late postings. Venues post shows at different times, so a night that looks quiet now may fill in later.
Changes. Promoters sometimes change times, prices or lineups at short notice. Check the official page before you go.

How do you plan your Christmas week nights?

Write down the nights you are free between 20 and 25 December, and your city.
Open the JGIG calendar and look at each of those dates.
If you want a themed night, look for クリスマス or 忘年会 in the show titles.
On each show page, note the total, Doors, Start and the nearest station.
Open the official event page. Check which tickets are on sale, and buy or reserve early if you can.
Save the details as screenshots. Reception can be weak in basement venues.

What if you are alone, have no Japanese or cash, or buy at the door?

Going alone: Many fans go alone, on any night. See Going to a concert alone in Tokyo.
No Japanese: Show titles may be in Japanese. Look for the words in the table above, and use the English details on the JGIG show page.
No cash: The drink fee is paid at the door, usually ¥600. Bring yen.
Door ticket: Door tickets are sold only if there is space. On a busy night, keep a second show in mind. See Can you buy tickets at the door (当日券) in Japan?.
